Care Endodontics Chicago (CEC) has after hour protocols.
For patients of record:
Both Drs. Carrara and Ries will give you written and oral instructions. Each case is different and we are not surprised if you have questions or require post treatment management. The answering machine has each Endodontist's phone number. Please call and leave a detailed message including your name, treatment date and endodontist that treated you. Be prepared to wait 45-60 minutes for a return call.
If you do not receive a return call, please text or call the other endodontist. We may not be in an area with service or out of town. Calls after 10 pm will be answered the next day after 8 am. Please have a pharmacy number for the endodontist. WE CAN NOT PRESCRIBE NARCOTICS OVER THE PHONE.
In addition, if you are concerned about a temporary filling, it is normal for the filling to recede/sink in. For the most part, it is intact. It is a temporary restoration and will not withstand chewing forces. This is not an emergency.
It is best to call during office hours, do not hesitate- if you have a question, a CEC Team Member will assist you. Some cases require an office visit.
For New Patients or Patients not in Active Treatment:
If you having severe pain with swelling and difficulty breathing, please go to the Emergency room or contact your general dentist. We do not respond to these calls after business hours. We cannot call in medications; nor do we see patients outside of scheduled office hours.
The CEC Endodontists can not schedule appointments for new patients. We will respond to appointment requests on the next business day.
